2016 WRX Sedan from Bend, Oregon: Subaru Rallies On

The 2016 Subaru WRX is set on achieving a great impression on racing car fans everywhere. With the lineup of features revealed thus far, it’s looking to be quite a highly feasible feat, too. Anyone who takes this car out for a test drive should be immediately impressed with how smoothly it hits 60 from the zero mark in as little as 4.8 seconds; much faster than the acceleration you’d find in any other regular car, but then again the WRX is not just any regular car. Designed to be 41% stiffer compared to its predecessor for improved handling, with improved spring rates of up to 39% in the front and 62% in the rear, the WRX is certain to make its own mark on the wide open roads.

Control and Roar

Further contributing to its superb handling performance is the Active Torque Vectoring (ATV) system, which has set the front brakes to clamp down temporarily on one wheel to aid the car as it turns a tight corner.

For its engine, the sedan model gets a 268-hp turbo 2.0-liter four, along with a six-speed manual transmission. It’s an all-wheel drive, too, which again only lends credence to its super rockstar status.

Bigger Spaces, Better Safety

It’s not just all swagger outside, though, as the interior does live up to the expectations set by its outer appearance. Because the manufacturer has added some 0.6 inches in overall body length, they’ve effectively allowed for some more legroom inside, 2 inches for those in the rear seat. Not only that, but even trunk space has gotten bigger, from 11.3 cu ft to a sure 12 cu ft.

With that much room, you won’t have to feel cramped anymore, and you’ll feel safer, too. That’s on top of the reassurance that you’ll get with the three-mode stability control (with brake-based yaw control), and the new knee airbag for the driver’s side.
