2016 Subaru BRZ from Bend, Oregon: Handling Well Under Pressure

The 2016 Subaru BRZ has consistently received high marks from its reviewers, and for very good reason. A lot of careful thought has been put into this sports car, thanks to Subaru’s proud collaboration with Toyota, and it’s looking every bit as gorgeous as you would think of a fast-driving automobile should look.

Engine & Handling

These two elements go together like peanut butter and jelly. They can have their own thing going on by themselves that works well, but together, they’re a real force to be reckoned with. In the BRZ, you’ll get a 2.0-liter DOHC Engine as standard for both BRZ and Limited versions. The power is pegged at 200 hp at 7,000 rpm, while torque is at 151 lb-ft at 6,400 rpm.

Its 6-speed manual transmission is available on standard models, while the automatic transmission comes with a manual mode and paddle shifters.

What makes its handling impressive is the Traction Control System (TCS), which is incorporated into the Vehicle Stability Control. This way, the car can sense when there’s a loss of traction, and so will automatically apply the brakes to the slipping wheel in order to let the driver gain retain control of the car.

Safety and More

With such a powerful engine, of course, comes a huge safety responsibility. That’s why Subaru made sure to add technology that will keep both driver passengers safe, no matter what the road conditions may be.

There’s the 4-Wheel Anti-lock Braking System, the Vehicle Stability Control, Pressure Monitoring System, Brake Assist, and Daytime Running Lights, among others. Of course, there’s also the SRS airbags, the LATCH system for the kids, anti-theft security system, keyless entry system, and engine immobilizer.

All of these are right there at your fingertips. All you have to do is head over to your dealership in Subaru in Bend and then choose the 2016 Subaru BRZ.
