2016 Subaru Crosstrek from Bend: Delivering Good Looks and Quality

The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek SUV is ready to come out of the shadows of its fellow SUV giants and shine on its own. It looks like a taller wagon version of the Impreza, so it’s been said, but there’s no doubt about it that Crosstrek is a great looking car no matter what it is compared to.

There are several trims to choose from, as usual, but the 2.0-liter DOHC engine comes standard for all. Horsepower is at 148 for 6,200 rpm, while torque is at 145 lb-ft at 4,200rpm. The basic 2.0i model gets a 5-speed manual transmission, but the Hybrid and Hybrid Touring models instead get a permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor.

Impressive Technology

The 2.0i Premium, Limited, Hybrid, and Hybrid Touring models also automatically get the Starlink 6.2-inch multimedia in-vehicle technology, which basically is there to make your car ride as smooth and convenient as possible. In it, you’ll get a single-disc CD player, USB port/iPod control, Bluetooth audio streaming, 6 speakers, and hands-free phone connectivity.

It’s also got power written, or in this case implemented, all over it, from the windows to the side mirrors, and even the center console that houses a 12-volt power outlet. The Crosstrek also has an automatic climate control system, further improved with the air filtration system to make sure that you’ll be breathing easy while on the road.

Appearances Matter

It’s not just the interiors that matter for Crosstrek, though, but also its exterior. As mentioned earlier, it borrows some design features from the Impreza. Its multi-reflector halogen headlights, with its dark gray, machined finish aerodynamic aluminum-alloy wheels, and body-color door handles with chrome accent come together to make for one good-looking SUV.
