2016 Subaru Forester from Subaru Dealerships: A Worthy Upgrade to its Predecessors

A lot of expectations are riding on the release of the 2016 Subaru Forester, and for very good reason. After all, its predecessors have been largely enjoyed a warm welcome because of the its added value to the table. Will the 2016 iteration be able to meet these expectations now that it has a turn to try and impress?

First Impressions

At first glance, the answer seems to be a quick yes. After all, it does still look sleek as ever, and offers not only performance but also good looks, that other crossovers can only dream of having. The 2016 Forester interface has been upped to a full touchscreen-based technology interface. The base 2.5i trim level gets the standard 6.2-inch screen, while the rest of the variants will get a 7-inches, along with other enhanced features.

It’s the Inside that Counts

Not one to provide superficial standards of quality, Subaru, of course, has devoted practically as much time on its engine as much as it did on the appearance. For the 2016 Forester, the engine is a 170-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder for standard, while the upgrade option is a 250-hp 2.0-liter turbo/CVT combo. Six-speed manual is also the default transmission option, but again, you can opt to upgrade with the CVT.

All-wheel drive capabilities also let the Forester impress with its off-road skills, frankly showing how it’s a cut above the rest of its class, at least in this regard. Safety also always comes first, too, so as per the Subaru mantra, and you’ll have your full range of safety features such as side airbags, lane departure warning, obstacle ahead warning, and more.
